Arts and Education Website Project

What We Did

The team met in person several times with the client, James Rosenberg. His organization, Arts and Education 4 DFW Youths, provides excursions to educational venues for underprivileged children in the Dallas Fort Worth area

The students researched competitor websites and created the personas: the students, the parents, and also potential donors. They gathered all the information from the current website and moved it into a WordPress website set up by the student web developer, Victor Barreto.

What I Taught

Throughout the project, I encouraged research and teamwork. As the project progressed, I evaluated the website for its use of images, search engine optimization, content, and overall design aesthetics. I also served as technical support, logging into the client's Paypal account and locating the appropriate code to allow donations on the website. I taught the students how to create a robots.txt file, to prevent their own versions of the website from being catalogued by search engines as the actual client website. When the website was complete, I worked with the web developer, Victor, to migrate the website to the client's webhost.
