This presentation was presented at Big Design 2015 as an introduction to the major concepts of web accessibility, including the WAI guidelines from the W3 and U.S. 508 Compliance. In addition, support for accessibility is developed through the use of html5 tags and WAI roles.
The presentation was originally created in PowerPoint. I chose to customize the slides by creating digital versions of each using Photoshop. This allowed me to use more effective typography and to prevent PowerPoint's auto-resizing.Because the venue would be a conference room with considerable depth, I chose a white background and a large font-size to insure readability from the back of the room.
However, I recognize that images cannot be read by screen readers. I recently recorded audio for each slide to make the content more accessible.
